Game Development Events & Workshops

Real learning happens when people connect. Our workshops bring together aspiring game developers, environment artists, and 3D specialists in a space where you can ask questions, experiment with tools, and learn from others who've been there.

What's Coming Up

We're running hands-on sessions throughout autumn 2025. These aren't lectures—they're practical workshops where you work on actual projects and get feedback. Plus, you'll meet people who are just as curious about game environments as you are.

Building Your First 3D Game Environment

Start from scratch. We'll walk through modeling basic terrain, adding textures, and setting up lighting. By the end of the day, you'll have something you built yourself.

Recent Workshops

Here's what happened at our last couple of sessions. People showed up, learned things, made stuff. Some folks came back for the next one.

Terrain Sculpting Workshop

Eighteen people came to this one. We spent the morning covering heightmaps and erosion simulation, then broke into smaller groups for the afternoon. A few participants brought screenshots of terrain they'd been stuck on—we troubleshot those together. One person finally figured out why their mountains looked flat from certain angles.

"I'd been watching tutorials for months but never actually built anything. This pushed me to just start."

Optimizing Game Environments

This workshop focused on performance. We looked at why beautiful scenes sometimes run at 20 fps and what you can do about it. Topics included mesh decimation, texture atlasing, and LOD setup. Most people left with at least three optimization techniques they could apply immediately.

"Finally understood why my forest scene was crashing. Cut my draw calls in half that same week."
